Last weekend my friends came over to our home for a potluck dinner, as in they brought the food and I only had to cook some rice and soup. On the menu:
Scallion chicken, inebriated with plenty of alcohol
Otak-otak, fragrant with lime leaves
Chay chye, somebody ate up all the gingko nuts.
Soya sauce braised pork, and the mysterious disappearing pig skin and intestines
More delicious foods such as beef rendang, angelhair pasta and chicken vindaloo.
There could also have been hairy crabs all the way from Hong Kong if our friend had not mistakenly given the crab bag (instead of the ice bag) to the customs officer at the airport.
For dessert, large helpings of boozy bread and butter pudding as well as cream cake.
We have very generous and lovely friends indeed, thanks my friends!
